The EPSE Awards 2015 Ceremony took place on the 3rd November at the Batimat in Paris. The projects were be submitted in 3 categories: sustainability, innovation and design. All the nominees were a perfect illustration of a wide variety of areas in which polycarbonate may be applied. It is not only used in construction and architecture (e.g. roof glazings’, claddings, canopies, skylights, façades) but thanks to its lightweight, high transparency and excellent processability polycarbonate is often used in creation of artworks (e.g. sculptures and installations).

Polycarbonate is a material which can be easily worked and modelled, and therefore, it can be used virtually for any kind of application. It is widely used in the construction sector, mainly for big-size installations like stadiums, arenas or Olympic venues. PC sheets are commonly used in engineering as and among others in the automotive, electronics and medical industries. More recently polycarbonate caught the attention of interior architects & furniture designers, artists and number of other niche markets.
The projects submitted to the 2015 edition of the Awards are a perfect example of the intrinsic properties of PC sheets. They cearly demonstrate high impact- & fire-resistance, durability, flexibility, lightweight and transparency of polycarbonate.
