During the main conference of the European Plastics Converters (EuPC) Annual Meeting on 3 June 2016, the seven winners of the Best Polymer Producers Awards for Europe 2016 were announced. The Polymers for Europe Alliance congratulates the winners of this European-wide customer satisfaction survey which reflects their contribution to the plastics value chain.
The overarching award on INNOVATION covering all polymer types was handed to Repsol. The innovation criterion was chosen to highlight its importance for the future of the industry. Indeed, innovation strengthens the economic performance of Europe – a topic explored during EuPC's Annual Meeting 2016 with the theme Innovation Meets the Circular Economy.

The Awards voting was launched in February 2016 by the Polymers for Europe Alliance and within three months received nearly 250 ratings from polymer users all over Europe. All users of polymers in Europe were eligible to access the voting tool free of charge and in strict confidence, and rate their suppliers’ performances from 2015 up to May 2016. All polymer producers were evaluated regarding the five criteria Quality, Regulatory Compliance, Delivery performance, Communication and Innovation.
"We are delighted with the outcome of the Awards voting. The results demonstrate the strength of feeling of the European polymer users that their voice should be heard, and the Polymers for Europe Alliance seems to represent the perfect platform for that," outlined Ron Marsh, Chairman of the Alliance.
Alexandre Dangis, EuPC Managing Director, explained further: "We were happy that all winners were able to attend the ceremony to accept their awards in person. This initiative provides a unique insight for all of us into the dynamics of the polymer supply chain. It is a major step towards re-establishing a constructive dialogue and a good communication between suppliers and users of polymers in Europe".
The opening date for the next voting round of the Best Polymer Producers Awards for Europe 2017 will be announced in September 2016.
The Alliance was initiated by the European Plastics Converters association (EuPC) during its General Assembly in May 2015. It is an online, confidential information platform open to all parties who have an interest in the competitive conversion of polymers in Europe. Its objectives are to provide factual public information on the status of the polymer supply situation in Europe and to re-establish a constructive dialogue with the supply base. Some upcoming initiatives of the Alliance in 2016 include the launch of the Best Polymer Producers Awards for Europe as well as an exploratory industry study to assess the level of competitiveness of the European plastics converting industry.
